How it works
What happens between signing a plan and a trade: smart accounts, signed limits, price checks, execution and confirmation on Robinhood Chain.
Your smart account
Every SLEEP user gets a smart account on Robinhood Chain (a ZeroDev Kernel account). Your wallet is its owner. Your positions are held there, in your name, and only your wallet can withdraw from it or change who may act on it.
Your plan becomes limits
When you sign a plan, SLEEP installs a small permission on your account, called a policy. It spells out exactly what SLEEP’s executor may do:
- which tokens it may swap, and in which direction;
- how much, per trade and in total, including rolling 24-hour caps;
- the trigger, such as a price level;
- the worst price it may accept compared with a trusted reference price (never more than 15% worse);
- the most it may charge in fees, and an expiry date.
SLEEP’s policy contract checks every trade against these limits onchain. A trade that breaks any of them is rejected by the chain itself.
Watching the market
SLEEP’s engine checks each position every few seconds. When a trigger is met, it reads the live quote, compares it with the reference price and your price protection, and simulates the trade before sending anything. If the quote is outside your limits, it waits and tries again rather than accepting a bad price.
Making the trade
The trade is sent by SLEEP’s executor, which pays the gas. SLEEP saves every signed transaction before broadcasting it, so a restart re-sends the same transaction instead of trading twice. It counts the trade as done only after it is confirmed onchain, and records what actually arrived in your account.
Where prices come from
ETH and USDG use Chainlink price feeds. Other tokens use a five-minute time-weighted average from their Uniswap pool, which a single trade cannot move. To be eligible for automated rules, a token needs at least $50,000 of pool depth and five minutes of history. SLEEP also won’t trade against USDG if USDG itself has slipped too far from $1 (5% at most).
